Nuklear Prophet
Prophecies 11:21
U-TRAX picked a quite eclectic collection of gems from Nuklear Prophet’s archives, most of them deeply infused by (Westcoast) electro. What they all have in common though is the overwhelming amount of energy they bring, and the characteristic sound of the Roland TR-808 drum machine.

Nuklear Prophet
The album kicks off with the track L.A. Rockz, remixed by Erik’s childhood hero and electro legend Egyptian Lover, previously released as part of the digi-only L.A. Rockz EP. This track features raps from Krazy Dee (of early NWA fame) and female rapper Nasim, and is heavily influenced by Africa Bambaataa.
This remix shows the characteristic electro funk sound of Egyptian Lover at his best, making it the perfect opener.
Other electro tracks on the album are reminiscent of producers like Drexciya (the dark Nuklear Prophet and Compton), Sonar Base (the atmospheric Solar Winds) and i-f (the floorkilling 808 Plague).
The album also offers some serious footwork tracks, with bangers like Everlastin’ Bass and The Train Ride To Coconino, that was selected earlier in 2021 by Legowelt for the U-TRAX compilation album U R Here!. The trip-hop tune Doctorz Of Crime was also featured on that compilation.
More hi-energy beats and bass comes in the form of future bass track Git Up On Dis!! and the irresistible synth-heavy electro song Mexaniko. More laid-back and melodic tracks like I Am Nuklear, Marz Rover (both electro) and the housy Whats Up With The Music? add even more variation to the album, before closing off with the chill-out electro trip-hop of The Mars Goblin. This 80 BPM song previously appeared on the QMoog-curated R U There Yet? U-TRAX compilation.
The album is available in four different formats, with different tracklistings for the CD, vinyl and cassette releases.
The digital and CD version treat the listener to 15 tracks, with the cassette offering 2 more bonus tracks for a total of 17 tracks. The vinyl edition presents 12 tracks across two beautiful 180 grams transparent red-and-ornage colored discs.
